India Foils Missile & Drone Attack On 3 Military Bases, Confirms Zero Losses
New Delhi, May 8, 2025 –
The Indian Armed Forces on Thursday confirmed the successful interception of missile and drone attacks launched by Pakistan targeting key military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur. In an official post on X, the Integrated Defence Services (IDS) declared that no casualties or material losses were reported.
“Threats were neutralised as per Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) using both kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities,” the IDS stated, underscoring India’s preparedness in handling high-risk incursions.
The attacks came a day after India’s Operation Sindoor—a series of precision strikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.
According to defence ministry sources, eight missiles targeting Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia were successfully intercepted by air defence units. Drone strikes aimed at military assets were also foiled without incident.
A ministry statement reiterated India’s commitment to sovereignty:
“The threats were swiftly neutralised in line with established SoPs. No casualties or losses were reported. India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure public safety.”
Amid the escalation, cities across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan went into enforced blackout Thursday night. Air raid sirens sounded in Jammu, Pathankot, and Amritsar, prompting authorities to urge residents to stay indoors and switch off lights.
Residents in Jammu reported loud explosions and red projectiles in the sky, consistent with missile interceptions. Blackouts were also reported in Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, and Gurudaspur, as precautionary measures were activated in border areas.
