India Launches Global Anti-Terror Campaign in Paris Following Pahalgam Attack
May 26, 2025: India has taken a bold step on the global stage, launching a renewed diplomatic offensive against terrorism with a high-level all-party parliamentary delegation visiting Paris this week. The delegation is led by BJP MP and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and includes BJP MP Daggubati Purandeswari among other senior political figures.
The visit follows the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam and India’s swift military response, Operation Sindoor. It marks the beginning of a series of international engagements aimed at highlighting India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism and calling for unified global action.

Speaking in Paris, Daggubati Purandeswari underscored the symbolic importance of beginning the campaign in France. “India and France share a deep, strategic partnership in fields like defence and artificial intelligence. Given France’s own tragic experiences with terrorism, it is apt to begin our dialogue here. The world must speak with one voice against the scourge of terrorism,” she said.
Ravi Shankar Prasad emphasized that India stands firmly for peace, but warned of consequences for cross-border terrorism. “Terrorism emanating from across our borders, especially when aided by Pakistan, carries a cost. Operation Sindoor was our firm response after Pahalgam,” he said.
He further called for international solidarity: “Pakistan harbors over 50 dangerous terrorists and has links to global terror incidents — from 9/11 to 26/11 and attacks in Europe. Terrorism is a global cancer, and the world must unite to eliminate it.”
The delegation’s packed itinerary includes meetings with French lawmakers, think tanks, Indian diaspora leaders, media, and members of the Indian Caucus and the Friends Committee in the French Parliament.
According to a statement from the Indian Embassy in France, the visit from May 25–27 is aimed at showcasing India’s firm and united front against terrorism and educating international partners about the threat posed by state-sponsored terrorism, particularly from Pakistan.
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was a direct military response to the deadly Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. Indian forces targeted terrorist infrastructure across the border and in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, neutralizing over 100 terrorists from groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
This diplomatic mission in France is a critical part of India’s wider campaign to build global consensus and cooperation in the fight against terrorism, ensuring that voices from all over the world rise in unison against this shared threat.
