India Neutralizes Pakistani Air Defence In Lahore, Thwarts Cross-Border Strike Attempt
New Delhi | May 8, 2025:
In a decisive countermeasure to Pakistan’s attempted escalation, the Indian Armed Forces destroyed multiple air defence systems, including installations in Lahore, after Pakistan launched a failed strike targeting strategic Indian locations, the government confirmed on Thursday.
According to official sources, Pakistani forces attempted overnight attacks on military installations in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Gujarat, including Srinagar, Amritsar, Pathankot, Ludhiana, and even Chandigarh. These attacks involved a combination of drones and missile launches.
“India’s air defence grid detected and disabled all incoming threats in real time,” a senior defence official stated. “In response, we carried out precision strikes targeting Pakistani Air Defence Radars and command systems.”
The incident marks the second wave of military exchanges following India’s Operation Sindoor, a precision strike conducted early Wednesday to neutralize terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir after the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 civilians dead.
