At a high-level briefing, Indian defence officials exposed Pakistan’s misinformation campaign using time-stamped visuals and rejected all claims of damage to critical military infrastructure.
New Delhi, May 10, 2025 — The Indian government on Saturday firmly rejected claims by Pakistan that it had successfully destroyed Indian air bases and critical defence infrastructure, including the S-400 air defence system. In a special media briefing, senior Indian officials denounced these assertions as part of a “continued malicious misinformation campaign” from Islamabad.

“Claims about the destruction of the Indian S-400 system and airbases at Surat and Sirsa are totally false,” said Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, addressing the media alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi.
Officials presented time-stamped satellite images and visuals of fully functional Indian military facilities to counter the false narrative being circulated on Pakistani media platforms and government-affiliated social media accounts.
India’s Firm Response to Pakistan’s Propaganda
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri called the flood of misinformation from Pakistan “a tissue of lies” and urged Indian citizens and the global community not to fall prey to fabricated content and distorted facts.
“There have been ludicrous claims regarding the destruction of power systems, cyber infrastructure, and even Army brigade headquarters. These are entirely baseless and unsupported by any credible evidence,” he stated.
Fact-Checking the Fakes
India’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check Unit has also been actively debunking fake advisories and fabricated war reports, many of which have been traced back to Pakistan’s military media wing, ISPR.
Some of the false narratives circulated by pro-Pakistan handles included:
- An alleged attack on Srinagar Airbase
- Destruction of an Indian Army brigade HQ
- Claims of shutting down India’s power grid
However, these posts lacked any credible proof, visual documentation, or satellite imagery, and have been categorically dismissed by Indian authorities.
“This misinformation campaign seeks to shield terror actors behind patriotic propaganda while distorting facts on the ground,” said Wing Commander Singh.
India’s Military Posture Remains Responsible
While reiterating India’s commitment to non-escalation, officials made it clear that any further provocation would be met with appropriate military and diplomatic responses.
“Our response has been swift, calibrated, and limited to identified military targets. We continue to exercise restraint while staying fully prepared,” said Colonel Qureshi.
