India-Pakistan Conflict LIVE: Explosions Heard Over Srinagar as Pakistan Closes Airspace

Tensions soar following Pakistan’s drone barrage across 26 Indian sites; India accuses Islamabad of using civilian aircraft as shields.

New Delhi, May 10, 2025 — Explosions were reported over Srinagar early Saturday morning amid heightened military conflict between India and Pakistan, hours after Islamabad closed its airspace to all traffic. The escalation follows a week of hostilities triggered by the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians were killed.

The Indian government has blamed Pakistan-based terror outfits, prompting a swift and strategic retaliation dubbed Operation Sindoor. On Wednesday, India launched 24 missiles in 25 minutes, targeting nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

In the intervening nights of Thursday and Friday, Pakistan launched a coordinated drone and missile attack targeting 26 Indian military and civil installations across the northern and western borders—from Leh in Ladakh to Sir Creek in Gujarat. These included strategic airfields and forward bases.

The Indian Air Defence System successfully neutralized the incoming threats using S-400, Barak-8, Akash, and indigenous anti-drone tech, averting potential destruction.

Early this morning, explosions were once again heard over Srinagar, with simultaneous reports of blasts at three Pakistani air bases, including Nur Khan in Rawalpindi, Rafiqui in Jhang, and Murid in Chakwal. Islamabad has since grounded all civilian flights and closed its entire airspace, a move India has criticised for earlier using civilian flights as shields during offensive operations.

The situation remains tense, with both sides on high alert and international stakeholders urging de-escalation.
