India Sends Global Message: 7-MP Delegation Led By Shashi Tharoor To Promote Anti-Terror Stand
New Delhi | May 17, 2025 – In a significant diplomatic outreach, the Government of India has named seven Members of Parliament, cutting across party lines, to carry India’s message of zero tolerance against terrorism to the world. The move follows the successful Operation Sindoor, in which Indian forces struck terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Leading this unprecedented diplomatic effort is Congress MP and former diplomat Shashi Tharoor, who accepted the Centre’s invitation, calling it an “honour” and a matter of national interest.
“When national interest is involved, and my services are required, I will not be found wanting,” Tharoor posted on X.
Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju hailed the outreach as a “powerful reflection of national unity above politics.”

The 10-day diplomatic mission will present India’s national consensus and assert the government’s firm stance on neutralizing terror networks operating from foreign soil.
Additional political voices expected to join the effort include:
The initiative comes after India’s Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. Indian armed forces targeted nine terror camps linked to LeT, JeM, and Hizbul Mujahideen, killing over 100 terrorists.
In the days that followed, Pakistan attempted retaliation via drone and missile strikes, which were intercepted by Indian defences. India responded by striking strategic military locations inside Pakistan.
A ceasefire agreement was reached on May 10, halting military action after four days of escalated cross-border conflict.
