India Slams Pakistan Over J&K Remarks, Asks It to Vacate “Illegally Occupied” Territory

MEA calls Pakistan’s cross-border terrorism the “biggest roadblock” to regional peace, rejects baseless allegations against India.

March 18, 2025: In a strong rebuttal to Pakistan’s recent remarks on Jammu and Kashmir, India on Tuesday reaffirmed its sovereignty over the region and asked Pakistan to vacate the Indian territory that it continues to hold illegally.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal slammed Pakistan for promoting cross-border terrorism, calling it the “biggest roadblock” to peace and stability in South Asia.

MEA’s Firm Stand Against Pakistan’s Remarks

“The world knows that the real issue is Pakistan’s active promotion and sponsorship of cross-border terrorism. In fact, this is the biggest roadblock to peace and security in the region. Instead of spreading lies, Pakistan should vacate Indian territory under its illegal and forcible occupation,” Jaiswal said in a press briefing.

• Pakistan’s Foreign Office recently issued a statement rejecting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks during his interview with American podcaster Lex Fridman, where he spoke about India’s repeated efforts to foster peace with Pakistan.
• PM Modi recalled inviting then-Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif to his oath-taking ceremony as a goodwill gesture, only to be met with hostility.
• In response, Pakistan accused India of fomenting trouble on its soil and engaging in “state-sanctioned oppression” in Jammu and Kashmir.
• Islamabad also alleged that India was orchestrating “targeted assassinations, subversion, and terrorism in foreign territories.”

India’s Response: “Baseless Allegations”

Rejecting these claims, MEA spokesperson Jaiswal dismissed Pakistan’s accusations as baseless, highlighting that the true epicenter of global terrorism lies in Pakistan itself.

“Pakistan should look inwards instead of pointing fingers and shifting the blame for its internal problems and failures onto others,” Jaiswal said.

Growing Tensions & India’s Stance on Terrorism

• Pakistan had previously blamed India for an attack on the Jaffar Express, claiming the perpetrators had ties to Afghanistan.
• India has categorically denied any involvement, emphasizing that Pakistan continues to harbor and export terror networks.

With rising tensions in diplomatic relations, India’s firm stance reiterates that Pakistan must take responsibility for its actions instead of attempting to deflect blame.
