India To Announce ICC Champions Trophy 2025, England Squad Tomorrow

January 17, 2025: The Indian squad for the upcoming ODI series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy will be announced on Saturday, as confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The selection meeting will be held in Mumbai and will be followed by a press conference, which will be attended by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of the men’s selection committee. The press conference is scheduled for 12:30 PM IST.

India will first play a five-match T20I series against England, starting on January 22 in Kolkata. The second and third T20I matches will be held in Chennai and Rajkot on January 25 and 28, respectively, followed by the fourth game in Pune on January 31. The final T20I match will take place in Mumbai on February 2.

After the T20I series, India will begin their three-match ODI series against England on February 6. The ODI series will set the stage for India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to begin on February 19 and will run until March 9. The tournament will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and the UAE, with India playing its matches in the UAE under a hybrid model.

The Champions Trophy will feature eight teams, with Group A consisting of Pakistan (the current champions and hosts), India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. Group B includes 2023 Cricket World Cup champions Australia, along with Afghanistan, England, and South Africa. India’s opening match in the tournament will be against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by a highly anticipated clash with Pakistan on February 23 in Dubai. India’s final league match will be against New Zealand on March 2.
