March 27, 2025: India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently met cricket icon Anil Kumble and lauded his exemplary career. On social media, Jaishankar expressed his admiration for the legendary cricketer, calling him “both an inspiration and example for so many.”

Kumble’s career, defined by remarkable milestones, has made him one of India’s greatest bowlers. He made history in 1999 by taking all 10 wickets in a single Test innings against Pakistan. He also became the first Indian bowler to claim 300 Test wickets at home and reached the 600-wicket mark in Test cricket. Kumble’s contributions extend beyond the field as he also served as the head coach of the Indian cricket team, guiding India to the No. 1 ranking in Tests.
Kumble’s record-breaking career includes being the highest wicket-taker for India across all formats, with 953 wickets. His achievements continue to inspire aspiring cricketers around the world.
