‘India’s Got Latent’: Cyber Cell Files Case Against All 30-40 Guests Who Appeared on the Show

Maharashtra Cyber Cell initiates legal action following outrage over inappropriate remarks on the show

February 12, 2025: The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has filed a case against 30-40 people involved in the YouTube show India’s Got Latent, including YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps). The action follows widespread backlash over offensive remarks made during a recent episode of the show.


Legal Action Initiated Against Multiple Guests

Authorities confirmed that cases have been registered against all individuals who appeared on the show from Episode 1 to Episode 6. The process of sending legal notices has already begun, with each person expected to record their statements in the coming days.

A case has been filed against all the people who were involved from the first episode of the show to episode 6. Everyone will be called to record their statements,” the Maharashtra Cyber Cell stated.

Screenwriter Varun Grover reacted to the development on X (formerly Twitter), saying:

“Every comedian who appeared as a judge on it has been named in the FIR. They should be asked to guess their sentence, and if it matches the sentence pronounced by the judge—they should be let go.”

Industry Bodies Condemn Show; AICWA Demands Ban

The controversy has led to strong condemnation from various film and media organizations, including the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA). The association released a statement labeling Allahbadia’s remarks “abhorrent” and “disrespectful” towards social and family values.

🔴 AICWA’s Official Statement:

“The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) vehemently condemns the reprehensible and offensive remarks made on the YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent.’ Such disgraceful content is utterly unacceptable and poses a significant threat to the moral fabric of our society.”

The association has called for:
A complete ban on the show
Legal action against all involved
A boycott by actors, filmmakers, and technicians of host Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia


Ranveer Allahbadia Issues Public Apology

Amid the backlash, Ranveer Allahbadia posted a video apology on X, acknowledging that his comments were inappropriate.

“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry,” he said.

He further emphasized that he had no intention of disrespecting families and promised to use his platform more responsibly in the future.

Additionally, Allahbadia has requested the show’s producers to remove the insensitive sections from the controversial episode.

“I have asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections. All I can say in the end is sorry—I hope you can forgive me as a human being,” he concluded.
