Though Noor Ahmad was named Player of the Match for his sensational 4/18, it was Dhoni’s lightning-quick glovework that left fans—and players—in awe.

The moment came in the 11th over of MI’s innings. Stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav, looking to attack, stepped out of the crease to take on Noor Ahmad. But he was completely deceived by the left-arm wrist spinner. Before he could even think about returning to safety, Dhoni whipped off the bails in a flash, sending Surya back for 29 off 26 balls.

Reflecting on the dismissal, Noor said, “The focus was to land the ball in the right area. Surya’s wicket was special, and the stumping from MSD was out of the world. It feels great to have someone like Mahi bhai behind the stumps; it’s a huge support.”

Noor’s spell turned the match in CSK’s favour and justified the franchise’s Rs 10 crore investment in him during the previous mega auction. His variation and control left MI’s batting in tatters.
