IPL 2025 Final: After 10 Overs, Punjab Kings Were; Batting Earlier, RCB Settled for 190/9
Ahmedabad, June 3, 2025: In a high-octane IPL 2025 Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Punjab Kings began their chase of a 191-run target set by Royal Challengers Bengaluru with flair, despite losing Prabhsimran Singh early. Josh Inglis kept the scoreboard ticking with a brisk innings, while RCB bowlers tried to pull things back in the middle overs.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, after winning the toss and opting to bat, posted 190/9 in their 20 overs. The innings lacked momentum as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Virat Kohli was the top scorer with a patient 43 off 35 balls, but none of the other batters could convert their starts. Kyle Jamieson was expensive but picked up three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh turned the game in PBKS’s favour with a stunning final over, grabbing 3/40.

PBKS’s chase started on a solid note. Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya added quick runs before a stunning catch by Phil Salt removed Arya. Prabhsimran kept attacking but was eventually dismissed, putting the pressure back on Punjab. Josh Inglis, however, took charge with clean hits, including a massive six over mid-wicket, targeting spinner Suyash Sharma.
Krunal Pandya provided control post-powerplay, conceding just three in his opening over, even as the required run-rate crept over 10.56. A wasted review by RCB on Inglis was followed immediately by a six, further intensifying the chase drama.
Despite a few mishits and dropped chances, Punjab Kings maintained the chase rhythm. At 73/2 in 8.5 overs, they still needed 118 runs off 67 balls with Inglis and Shreyas Iyer at the crease.
With pressure mounting and both teams exchanging moments of brilliance and missteps, the IPL 2025 final remains delicately poised.
