IPL 2025: Gill, Sudharsan's 100-Run Stand Powers Gujarat Titans to 180/6 Against LSG
April 12, 2025: Gujarat Titans (GT) posted a competitive 180/6 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 26 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, thanks to a stellar 100+ opening stand between captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. The match took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to field first. GT openers Gill and Sudharsan gave their side a flying start, scoring freely during the powerplay and ending the first six overs at 54/0. The pair displayed excellent shot selection and risk-free batting to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Gill brought up his half-century in the ninth over, followed shortly by Sudharsan. The duo added 111 runs for the first wicket before Gill was dismissed for a well-made 60 off 38 balls, including six boundaries and a six. Sai Sudharsan followed soon after for 56 off 37 deliveries, featuring seven fours and a six.
LSG bowlers bounced back in the second half of the innings. Ravi Bishnoi (2/36) and Shardul Thakur (2/34) were instrumental in pulling things back, picking up crucial wickets at regular intervals. Digvesh Rathi (1/30) and Avesh Khan (1/32) also chipped in with a wicket each, while Akshdeep Singh remained wicketless.
Despite the late collapse, GT managed to post a competitive total, finishing on 180/6 in their 20 overs. The team will now rely on their bowlers to defend the target and continue their winning momentum in the tournament.
