IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants Smash 203, Hardik Pandya Bags Career-Best Fifer vs Lucknow
April 4, 2025: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) posted a dominant 203/8 in their 20 overs against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Match 16 of the IPL 2025. While skipper Rishabh Pant continued his poor run with the bat, it was a powerful batting display from Mitchell Marsh (50 off 27), Aiden Markram (53 off 35), and a late blitz from David Miller (27 off 14) that pushed LSG past the 200-run mark.

Mumbai skipper Hardik Pandya emerged as the lone shining star with the ball, grabbing his first-ever five-wicket haul in T20 cricket. He finished with 5/32, removing key batters like Markram, Miller, and Akash Deep in a sensational spell, showcasing exceptional control and leadership under pressure.

In contrast, Rishabh Pant’s nightmare season worsened. The LSG captain fell for just 2 runs, taking his tally to a mere 19 runs in 4 matches—a dismal return for the most expensive player in IPL history (₹27 crore). His lack of runs has put pressure on the rest of the lineup and drawn sharp criticism from fans and analysts alike.

Mumbai Indians will now chase a daunting 204-run target without their talismanic opener Rohit Sharma. With Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik himself in the XI, MI will hope to mount a strong reply against a pumped-up LSG bowling attack.
