IPL 2025: Mitchell Starc Destroys SRH With Fiery 5-Wicket Haul, Aniket Verma’s Heroics In Vain As SRH Fold For 163
March 30, 2025: The 10th match of IPL 2025 saw Mitchell Starc deliver a sensational spell, grabbing 5 wickets and completely derailing Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings, bundling them out for 163 in just 18.3 overs at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

SRH, who won the toss and opted to bat, suffered a horror start as they lost four wickets in the powerplay, with Starc breathing fire and dismissing Ishan Kishan, Nitish Reddy, and Travis Head in quick succession. The collapse started right from the first over when Abhishek Sharma was run out. SRH’s top guns crumbled under DC’s disciplined attack.
While SRH’s star-studded top order failed, uncapped Aniket Verma turned heads with a fiery 74 off 41 balls. The youngster smashed 6 sixes, dominating DC’s spinners and keeping SRH in the contest. His knock was filled with fearless intent and strokeplay, a silver lining for the Hyderabad franchise.
“What a knock under pressure! This is how you announce yourself on the big stage,” said a commentator during the live broadcast.
Aniket’s dream innings was cut short by a stunning boundary catch from Jake Fraser-McGurk, denying him a potential century.
Delhi Capitals need 164 runs to win. With KL Rahul returning to the XI and Faf du Plessis at the top, DC will fancy their chances to chase this down and seal back-to-back wins.
