Ahmedabad, March 25 – The fifth match of IPL 2025 between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) kicked off with GT captain Shubman Gill winning the toss and choosing to bowl first at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The decision was influenced by expected dew later in the evening—a factor that historically favors teams batting second at this venue.

PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer didn’t hide his disappointment, stating at the toss:

“I would have loved to bowl. I am always someone who loves a chase… Since we will be batting first, we have only one spinner and three seamers.”

In contrast, Shubman Gill sounded confident about his bowling unit and the match conditions.
