Hyderabad, March 23: Sunrisers Hyderabad stamped their authority on T20 cricket in stunning fashion, setting a new benchmark by becoming the first team to score 250+ totals four times in the format. Their latest feat came in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), as they piled up a massive 286/6 against Rajasthan Royals at home.
SRH, known for their explosive batting displays, lit up the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium once again. The innings began with a brutal onslaught led by Abhishek Sharma, who tore into the Royals’ bowling attack with fearless stroke play. Partnering him was Travis Head, whose aggressive intent kept the scoreboard ticking at a breakneck pace.
After Abhishek’s dismissal, Ishan Kishan walked in and turned the momentum up another notch. Despite a shaky start, Kishan found his rhythm quickly, bringing up his fifty in just 25 balls and hammering his way to a breathtaking century in 45 deliveries. Chasing a near-impossible target, the Royals put up a spirited fight. Sanju Samson (66) and Dhruv Jurel (70) showed intent, crafting a steady counter-attack. Late fireworks from Shimron Hetmyer and Shubham Dubey added some drama, but the required run rate kept climbing. In the end, Rajasthan fell short by 44 runs.
