Sunrisers Hyderabad’s explosive opener Travis Head scored a fiery 67 off 31 balls before being dismissed by Tushar Deshpande, as SRH raced past 130 in just 10 overs against Rajasthan Royals.
March 23, 2025: Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad kicked off their IPL 2025 campaign with fireworks at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium as opener Travis Head smashed 67 runs off just 31 balls, setting the tone for what looked like a massive total. Partnering initially with Abhishek Sharma, who made a quick 24 off 11 balls, Head launched an all-out assault on the Rajasthan Royals’ bowling attack.

The Sunrisers crossed the 100-run mark inside 7 overs, putting up 94 runs in the Powerplay, a clear warning to the rest of the league. Head brought up his 4,000th T20 run during the innings and raised his half-century in just 21 balls — the fastest so far this season.
However, the Royals struck back when Tushar Deshpande delivered a clever slower one, removing Head for 67. The dismissal was followed by an intense celebration, showing just how vital the breakthrough was for the bowling side.
Ishan Kishan, promoted to No. 3, kept the scoreboard ticking with a flurry of boundaries, and Nitish Reddy walked in at No. 4, immediately finding the fence with a powerful straight drive.
At the halfway mark, SRH stood tall at 135/2 in 10 overs, with a run rate of over 13.5 — still well on course for a 200+ total unless the Royals can pull things back dramatically in the second half.
