Jennifer Lopez Pulled Into Diddy’s $400 Million Sexual Assault Lawsuit: Will She Testify Against Her Ex?

A Michigan inmate suing Sean “Diddy” Combs for alleged assault names Jennifer Lopez as a potential witness, citing her past relationship with the rapper.

December 21, 2024: Jennifer Lopez has found herself indirectly pulled into the ongoing legal battle involving her ex-boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs. While Lopez has remained silent on the mounting allegations against Diddy, her name has now surfaced in court documents filed by Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, an inmate suing the music mogul for an alleged sexual assault dating back to 1997.

Cardello-Smith, currently incarcerated in Michigan, claims he was drugged and molested by Diddy at a hotel party during his employment as a bartender. He alleges that he was lured into a sex party, drugged, and woke up to find Diddy engaged in sexual acts with another woman. According to Smith, Diddy reportedly told him, “I did this to you too!”

The inmate, who is serving time for unrelated convictions of sexual misconduct and kidnapping, has named Jennifer Lopez — referred to in court documents as “Jennifer Lynn Lopez aka Jenny from the Block” — as a potential witness. He believes that her past romantic relationship with Diddy from 1999 to 2001 might mean she holds information relevant to the case.

Diddy’s legal team, led by lawyer Marc Agnifilo, has strongly dismissed the claims, calling the lawsuit “frivolous” and “based on obvious fabrications.” They have also pointed out that the claims were filed long after the statute of limitations expired.

In his defence, Smith argues that he delayed filing the lawsuit out of fear of retaliation from Diddy, claiming the rapper is powerful enough to orchestrate cover-ups. Diddy’s lawyers have dismissed these claims as “not plausible.”
