Kanimozhi-Led Delegation, Former Russian PM Discuss Global Terror Threats in Moscow
May 23,2025: Former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov met with an Indian all-party parliamentary delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi on Friday, where the two sides held a productive exchange on pressing global challenges, particularly the escalating threat of terrorism.
The Indian delegation includes prominent MPs from across the political spectrum—SP’s Rajeev Rai, NC’s Mian Altaf Ahmad, BJP’s Captain Brijesh Chowkta, RJD’s Prem Chand Gupta, AAP’s Ashok Kumar Mittal, former ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri, and NCP’s Jawed Ashraf.

According to a post shared by the Indian Embassy in Russia on X, the meeting with Fradkov—now head of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies (RISS)—focused on the evolving global situation and the shared need for counterterrorism collaboration.
Kanimozhi emphasized India’s unwavering commitment to defeating terrorism during a separate meeting with Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, and other Russian lawmakers.
“Our delegation conveyed India’s unequivocal and unconditional resolve to defeat all forms of terrorism,” she posted on X. “We underlined our uncompromising national stance to eradicate terrorism in all its forms.”
The visit to Russia is part of a broader international tour by the delegation, which also includes stops in Slovenia, Greece, Latvia, and Spain. This diplomatic outreach follows Operation Sindoor, India’s recent military campaign in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
India’s Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, also briefed the delegation earlier in the day on the strategic dimensions of India-Russia relations.
The tour underscores India’s united political front and strong international message of zero tolerance toward terrorism.
