Following India’s targeted military response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor was launched to neutralize terror bases in Pakistan and reinforce India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism. As part of the diplomatic aftermath, over 50 members — comprising current and former MPs, diplomats, and leaders from both the NDA and INDIA bloc — were sent to key global capitals to amplify India’s message.

The seven delegations were led by:

  • Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP)
  • Baijayant Panda (BJP)
  • Shashi Tharoor (Congress)
  • Sanjay Jha (JD-U)
  • Shrikant Shinde (Shiv Sena)
  • Kanimozhi (DMK)
  • Supriya Sule (NCP-SP)

Countries visited include the US, UK, France, Russia, Japan, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and the European Union, among others. The mission was not only to promote India’s strong anti-terror stance but to build consensus on the global need for collective security and peace.

PM Modi, sharing images of the meeting on X (formerly Twitter), stated,
“We are all proud of the manner in which they put forward India’s voice. They elaborated on our commitment to peace and the urgent need to eliminate terrorism.”

Before the PM’s meeting, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar had also engaged with the returning delegations to review the impact of their mission.

Operation Sindoor’s diplomatic push comes amid increased tensions between India and Pakistan following border skirmishes and missile strikes near the LoC and international borders in Jammu & Kashmir.
