Manchester City makes history, wins 4th Premier League title in a row
Manchester City made history by securing their fourth consecutive Premier League title with a commanding 3-1 victory over West Ham United on Sunday.
Phil Foden set the tone early, scoring within 79 seconds to put City ahead. He then doubled the lead in the 18th minute, heading in a cross from Jeremy Doku. West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus managed to narrow the gap just before halftime with a stunning scissors kick, making it 2-1.
At the break, Manchester City held a slim lead over West Ham. The game saw its final decisive moment in the 59th minute when Rodri netted a goal, solidifying City’s advantage. From there, City maintained control to clinch their fourth consecutive Premier League title.
Phil Foden’s exceptional performance, highlighted by his two goals, earned him the Player of the Match award. Reflecting on the victory, Foden said, “Not just me, all the lads have played in important games, we’ve played this scenario over. We were confident. It’s paid off. It was the perfect start. The [nickname] sniper is going to stay forever now. This feeling will never get old. I want this winning feeling always,” as quoted by Sky Sports.
This victory marks Pep Guardiola’s 17th trophy since taking over at the Etihad, and the third this season, following triumphs in the UEFA European Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
