Morne Morkel Considers This Indian Player As Team’s “X-Factor” Player

India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja achieved a significant milestone in Test cricket during a match against Bangladesh in Kanpur, where he claimed his 300th Test wicket.

Jadeja dismissed Bangladesh’s Khaled Ahmed to become only the 11th cricketer in history to achieve the double of 3000-plus runs and 300-plus wickets in Test matches. Remarkably, he became the second-fastest to reach this feat, just behind England legend Ian Botham, who achieved it in 72 matches.

India’s bowling coach, Morne Morkel, had high praise for Jadeja, calling him an “X-Factor” player. Morkel emphasized how Jadeja contributes in all areas—batting, bowling, and fielding—and labeled him a “complete package” for the team.

According to Morkel, Jadeja’s performances have been consistently match-winning for India, and he continues to work hard on his game, making him indispensable.

The Test itself was marked by excitement, despite two days being lost to rain. On day four, India showcased aggressive intent, particularly in their batting approach, scoring runs at a blistering pace. Captain Rohit Sharma led from the front, setting the tone for a quick scoring strategy that saw India hitting milestones rapidly in terms of team runs. By the end of the day, India had Bangladesh at 26/2, still trailing, in what promised to be an intense contest.
