📍 Mumbai, March 16: Mumbai Indians (MI) successfully defended their Women’s Premier League (WPL) title, defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 9 runs in a tense final at Brabourne Stadium on Saturday. MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front, scoring a crucial 66 off 44 balls, helping her team set a challenging target of 150 for Delhi.

Despite Marizanne Kapp’s late fightback (40 off 26 balls), DC fell short at 141/9 in 20 overs, handing Mumbai their second consecutive WPL title.

After DC captain Meg Lanning won the toss and opted to bowl first, MI got off to a shaky start, losing Yastika Bhatia (8) and Hayley Matthews (3) early. However, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur anchored the innings, forming a crucial partnership with Nat Sciver-Brunt (30 off 28 balls).
