A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on Friday, with the tremors rippling across borders and wreaking havoc in Thailand, where a 30-storey under-construction building collapsed in Bangkok, reportedly trapping 43 workers under the debris.
The tremors were also felt across eastern India and parts of Bangladesh, sparking panic but causing no immediate casualties in those areas.
