NASA Astronaut Captures Stunning Image of Burj Khalifa Shining Brightly From Space

February 4, 2025: NASA astronaut Donald Roy Pettit has shared an awe-inspiring photograph of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, taken from the International Space Station (ISS). The image showcases the Burj Khalifa brilliantly illuminated, standing out amidst Dubai’s dazzling skyline. Pettit posted the photograph on X (formerly Twitter), captioning it, “Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building from space.”

The photograph quickly went viral, leaving netizens amazed by its stunning perspective. Donald Roy Pettit, a 70-year-old chemical engineer and veteran astronaut, has spent over 500 days in space across multiple ISS missions since being selected by NASA in 1996. Known for his passion for astrophotography, Pettit often shares stunning images of Earth’s landscapes, auroras, and cityscapes from orbit. Currently serving as a flight engineer on the Expedition 72 crew, Pettit is dedicating six months aboard the ISS to scientific research and maintenance tasks while continuing to capture breathtaking shots of Earth from space.
