Nehal Chudasama’s brother breaks silence after Salman questions her achievements
The latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, has ignited a storm of controversy after contestant Nehal Chudasama was intensely grilled and seemingly humiliated regarding her past accomplishments.
Nehal’s family, particularly her brother Pranay Chudasama, reacted strongly to the public shaming, taking to social media to defend the former Miss Diva Universe.
Expressing the deep pain of his family, Nehal’s brother Pranay Chudasama posted an emotional message on his Instagram Stories. Alongside a video clip of Nehal competing in a beauty pageant, he passionately defended his sister’s hard-earned journey.
Pranay wrote:
“Imagine asking the same question that was asked to a sportsperson or athlete who works hard for years and represents the country. My heart is in pain. I could feel the pain you went through at that moment, sister. History is proof of what you have done for the country, and I’m sorry you had to answer such a question.”
His message highlighted that merely representing the nation on a global stage, like Miss Universe, is a monumental achievement that requires years of dedication, regardless of the final outcome.
The confrontation began with Salman Khan addressing Nehal Chudasama’s persistent “obsession” with fellow contestant Tanya Mittal since returning from the secret room. Salman noted that Nehal was constantly backbiting about Tanya to other housemates.
The host then escalated the discussion by questioning Nehal’s achievements directly.
The host also addressed Nehal’s frequent comments suggesting that Tanya had everything “handed to her” due to her well-off background. Salman defended Tanya, stating:
“If she comes from a well-off family and you don’t, it means your parents must have worked very hard to support your education but couldn’t reach the level that Tanya’s parents have. Why are you getting bothered by her life?”
The intense exchange concluded with Salman asking both women to resolve their differences face-to-face.
The segment drew widespread criticism from viewers and former contestants alike. Many accused the Bigg Boss 19 makers of unfairly “disrespecting” Nehal Chudasama’s hard work and using her humiliation to “glorify” Tanya Mittal. Even Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan publicly expressed her disappointment, stating that she “felt bad for Nehal” after watching the episode.
Nehal Chudasama had won the Miss Diva Universe 2018 title, which earned her the right to represent India at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant, where she failed to make it to the Top 20.
