No Victory Parade for India's Champions Trophy Winners – Here's Why
March 11, 2025: Team India returned home after clinching the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai, but unlike their T20 World Cup 2024 victory celebrations, there will be no open bus parade or felicitation ceremony this time.

🛬 Players Arriving Separately
Unlike last year, when the entire squad flew back to India together on a charter flight, players and support staff members are arriving individually in different cities. Head coach Gautam Gambhir landed in Delhi on Tuesday, while captain Rohit Sharma returned to Mumbai. Other players have also started arriving or have taken short vacations before joining their respective Indian Premier League (IPL) teams.

📅 IPL 2025 Start Date: March 22
⏳ Limited Breathing Space: Players need rest before joining their franchises.
📍 Pre-Tournament Camps: Some IPL teams have already started training.
With the 18th season of the IPL set to begin in just 11 days, players need time to switch off and rejuvenate before rejoining their teams. Organizing a large-scale victory parade amid these commitments presents a logistical challenge for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

🔹 Tight Schedule – Players need recovery time before IPL commitments.
🔹 Scattered Arrivals – No collective homecoming like after the T20 World Cup.
🔹 Pre-Season Camps Underway – Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have already begun preparations.
India created history by becoming the first team to win three Champions Trophy titles, securing their latest four-wicket victory against New Zealand in the final at Dubai International Stadium. Despite the absence of grand public celebrations, the win has cemented India’s dominance in ODI cricket.
While fans may miss a victory parade, the focus now shifts to IPL 2025, where these champions will soon be back in action.
