Noida Implements Tight Traffic Restrictions Ahead of Republic Day

Heavy vehicle entry into Delhi restricted, parking at Noida metro stations closed for enhanced security measures.

Gautam Buddh Nagar (Uttar Pradesh), January 22: The Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate has announced comprehensive traffic and security measures in preparation for Republic Day celebrations. Entry of goods vehicles—including heavy, medium, and light vehicles—from Gautam Budh Nagar into Delhi will be restricted. A detailed traffic advisory will be issued by the traffic police to inform commuters.

Border Traffic Management

Key Delhi entry points from Noida, including Kalindi Kunj, DND Flyway, and Chilla borders, will have increased deployment of traffic police personnel. Additional support will be provided at New Ashok Nagar, Jhundpura, and Haridarshan borders. Traffic will also be managed at Vasundhara and Yamuna Expressway entry points.

Heavy goods vehicles will be diverted at these border points towards their destinations using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

  • DND Border: Vehicles entering Delhi will U-turn at the DND toll plaza and proceed via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
  • Chilla Red Light Border: Goods vehicles will take a U-turn at Chilla and follow the same diversion route.
  • Kalindi Kunj Yamuna Border: Vehicles will be redirected from the underpass intersection before the Yamuna River towards the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
  • Yamuna Expressway Zero Point: Goods vehicles headed to Delhi will be diverted towards the Eastern Peripheral Expressway from Zero Point.

Parking and Road Safety

  • A Quick Reaction Team (QRT) will be deployed to prevent unauthorized parking on main roads.
  • In exceptional cases, vehicles will be temporarily parked on designated roads, including Chilla-Shani Mandir Road, Pusta Road in Sector 94, and Sector 44 service road.

Metro Station Parking Closure

For security reasons, parking at major Noida metro stations—including Botanical Garden, City Center, Electronic City, and Bird Sanctuary—will be vacated and closed on Republic Day.

These measures aim to ensure smooth traffic flow and heightened security during the national celebration.
