"Only You Can Convince Him": Pujara Urges Sanjana Ganesan to Persuade Bumrah for All Tests
June 22, 2025: India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah turned the tide on Day 3 of the first Test against England with a stunning five-wicket haul, his 14th in Test cricket, helping restrict England to 465. Bumrah delivered fiery spells and finished with figures of 5/83, while the rest of the Indian bowling unit collectively gave away 5/382, underlining his match-defining impact.
In a light-hearted moment during Sony Sports Network’s Extraaa Inningss, Cheteshwar Pujara and Sunil Gavaskar made a playful yet heartfelt appeal to Sanjana Ganesan, Bumrah’s wife and cricket presenter, urging her to convince him to play all five Tests.

Pujara said:
“I have a request for you tomorrow. You have to convince Jasprit to play a few more matches.”
Gavaskar added:
“There is an eight-day gap before the 2nd Test, and Lord’s he can’t miss. Then comes Manchester, where the ball swings till October, and the last Test is just five days.”
To which Sanjana replied:
“I hope Jasprit you are watching this. Only you can convince him.”
While Bumrah’s participation in all five Tests remains uncertain, fans and former players alike are hoping the ace pacer continues his red-hot form and features in more matches. His presence is crucial for India’s chances on English soil, especially in swing-friendly conditions like Lord’s and Old Trafford.
