Pakistan Reacts to PM Modi's Remarks on Pahalgam Attack, Here's What was Said
Katra, Jammu & Kashmir | June 7, 2025 – Pakistan has reacted sharply to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks linking Islamabad to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at an event in Katra, PM Modi accused Pakistan of orchestrating the attack with the intent to “incite communal violence in India” and “cripple the livelihood of hardworking Kashmiris.”
He described the attack, which killed 26 civilians—many of them tourists—as an assault on “insaniyat” (humanity) and “Kashmiriyat.”
“Pakistan targeted tourists to incite riots in India and disrupt the lives of the common people of Kashmir,” PM Modi said, praising the resilience of the people and youth of Jammu & Kashmir in the face of extremism.
“This is the same terrorism that burned down schools, destroyed hospitals, and ruined generations,” he added.
In a formal statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said it was “deeply dismayed” by the Indian Prime Minister’s comments and “firmly rejected the baseless and misleading allegations.”
“We are deeply dismayed that the Indian prime minister has once again chosen to accuse Pakistan of involvement in the Pahalgam attack, without presenting a single piece of credible evidence,” read the statement.

PM Modi underscored a shift in public sentiment in Jammu and Kashmir, noting how the region’s youth are now determined to reject extremism and reclaim peace and development. His speech came as he flagged off the first Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express and inaugurated the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link, a symbol of connectivity and unity in the valley.
