The Cessna 550, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), went down near Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport. The number of people onboard remains unclear, and authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Authorities quickly evacuated three blocks surrounding the crash site. The San Diego Police Department issued an alert advising residents to avoid the area and report any debris or the smell of jet fuel.
