In a stirring address, PM Modi emphasised the transformative potential of yoga in a world burdened by violence and division. “Yoga is for all—beyond boundaries, backgrounds, age or ability. The Ministry of External Affairs, through its cultural wing ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), is spearheading 2,000+ yoga events at 1,300 global locations across 191 countries this year. The unprecedented scale showcases yoga’s growing international resonance since the UN General Assembly adopted India’s proposal in 2014.
“When we presented the Yoga Day resolution at the UN, 175 countries supported us. That kind of global unity is rare in today’s world,” PM Modi reflected. “Yoga has awakened humanity’s sense of shared purpose and peace.”
The Prime Minister urged citizens across the globe to incorporate yoga into daily life. “Let us turn yoga into a revolution. Begin each day with yoga to achieve balance and harmony,” he encouraged. He reaffirmed yoga’s journey from being an ancient Indian practice to becoming a universal path toward wellbeing and coexistence.
