PM Modi Meets Italy’s Giorgia Meloni At G7, Video Goes Viral

Toronto [Canada], June 18: A candid and widely shared moment between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the G7 Summit 2025 in Canada has gone viral on social media, showcasing a friendly exchange that’s being dubbed the latest “Melodi” moment online.

In the brief video clip, PM Modi and Meloni are seen warmly greeting each other and checking on one another’s well-being. During the light-hearted exchange, Meloni can be heard complimenting Modi, saying, “You’re the best, I’m trying to be like you!” — a remark that has sparked a wave of reactions and memes across global platforms.

Carney said:

“PM Modi’s presence reflects the size, dynamism, and technological strength of the Indian economy and its leadership role globally.”

This visit also marks PM Modi’s first trip to Canada in a decade, and is part of a three-nation diplomatic tour. Prior to Canada, Modi visited Cyprus, where he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III — the island nation’s highest civilian honour.

After the G7 summit, PM Modi is set to travel to Croatia for the final leg of his tour.
