PM Modi’s First ‘Mann Ki Baat’ After Operation Sindoor: “India’s Resolve Is Clear”

In his first address post-Operation Sindoor, PM Modi showcased the damaged Lashkar camps in Pakistan, praising the precision of India’s armed forces and underscoring a turning point in the global fight against terror.

May 25, 2025: In his first “Mann Ki Baat” address since the launch of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared images of the terror camps destroyed by Indian armed forces in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Speaking to the nation on Sunday, PM Modi hailed the “extraordinary” precision with which the operation targeted terror camps, calling it a testament to India’s growing strength and determination.

Operation Sindoor, carried out overnight on May 7, came in the wake of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that claimed 26 lives. The Indian armed forces struck nine terror sites, including camps of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen. Modi described it as “the picture of our resolve, courage, and a changing India.”

Damaged Terror Camps Revealed
PM Modi specifically showcased images of the Gulpur and Abbas camps in Kotli, and the Barnala camp in Bhimber, all in PoK.

  • The Gulpur camp was a Lashkar base for operations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri and Poonch districts.
  • The Abbas camp was a hub for training LeT suicide bombers.
  • The Barnala camp trained terrorists in weapons handling, IED making, and jungle survival.

Modi credited “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and India’s homegrown defence capabilities for the mission’s success, calling it “the ultimate bravery of our soldiers, backed by the power of weapons, equipment, and technology made in India.”

Turning Point in Global Fight Against Terror
Calling Operation Sindoor a turning point, PM Modi emphasized that this was not a one-off action but a clear demonstration of India’s new approach to combating terrorism.
“Today, the entire country is united against terrorism, filled with anger and determination,” he said, adding that India’s growing capabilities and confidence have infused new energy into the global fight against terrorism.

Apart from the Gulpur, Abbas, and Barnala camps, the Indian forces also targeted:

  • Markaz Subhan camp in Bahawalpur, the JeM headquarters for recruitment and indoctrination.
  • Markaz Taiba camp in Muridke, the Lashkar-e-Taiba headquarters linked to several attacks, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
  • Sarjal and Mehmoona Joya camps in Sialkot.
  • Syedna Belal camp and Sawai Nala camp in Muzaffarabad.

The operation was met with retaliatory missile and drone attacks from Pakistan, which were effectively thwarted by Indian defences. A ceasefire was declared on May 10, bringing a temporary halt to hostilities.
