In response to India’s precision strikes on terror camps, Pakistani state-linked channels circulate misleading videos and false reports—many flagged by fact-checkers.
New Delhi | May 7, 2025:
Following India’s high-precision tri-services counterstrike on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor, a wave of misinformation has flooded social media platforms and state-linked news outlets in Pakistan.
Within hours of the strikes, government-affiliated Pakistani media and influencers began circulating unverified and false claims — including fabricated stories of missile retaliation targeting Indian territory, a destroyed brigade headquarters, and an airbase strike in Srinagar.
India’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) debunked these reports, confirming that several videos being widely shared as alleged Pakistani counter-attacks were actually old footage from sectarian riots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2024, and had no connection to India.
