Prince Harry’s U.S. Immigration Files Ordered for Public Release

“Documents Must Be Made Public by Tuesday,” Judge Rules in Visa Controversy

📍 A U.S. judge has ruled that Prince Harry’s visa records must be disclosed, reigniting scrutiny over his past admissions of drug use.

🔹 Judge Orders Release of Prince Harry’s Immigration Documents

A U.S. federal judge has ruled that Prince Harry’s immigration records must be made public by Tuesday, March 18, following a legal battle over his visa application and whether he disclosed past drug use when entering the United States.

The decision comes after a lawsuit filed by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, which demanded transparency regarding the Duke of Sussex’s immigration status. They claim Harry’s admissions of drug use in his memoir, Spare, raise legal questions about his eligibility for a U.S. visa.

📜 Judge Carl Nichols has ordered the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to release a redacted version of Harry’s visa application.

This ruling marks a significant turnaround, as Nichols had previously ruled in September 2023 that there was no public interest in releasing the files. However, following renewed legal pressure from the Heritage Foundation, the judge has now determined that disclosure is necessary.

🔹 What’s at Stake? Questions Over Harry’s U.S. Visa

Prince Harry, who has lived in California since 2020 with wife Meghan Markle and their two children, admitted to past drug use in his best-selling autobiography, Spare.

🗣️ In the book, Harry confessed:
✔️ He experimented with cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushrooms.
✔️ Cocaine “didn’t do anything” for him, but marijuana “actually really did help me.”

Under U.S. immigration law, past drug use can be grounds for visa ineligibility. However, exceptions exist if an applicant discloses their history and applies for a waiver. The question now is whether Harry was truthful in his visa application or if special treatment was granted.

🔹 Meghan’s Netflix Show and Public Scrutiny

The ruling comes just two weeks after the launch of Meghan Markle’s new Netflix reality show, With Love, Meghan. The show has received mixed reviews, though a second season has already been filmed and is set to release later this year.

With Prince Harry’s immigration status now under public scrutiny, the controversy surrounding his visa application could further impact the couple’s standing in the U.S.

👀 As Tuesday’s deadline approaches, all eyes will be on DHS to see what details emerge from the redacted files—and whether Harry’s residency in the U.S. faces any legal consequences.
