Priyanka Gandhi Criticizes Own HP Govt in Lok Sabha, BJP Calls It a Major Blunder

“BJP leader CR Kesavan labels Priyanka Gandhi’s maiden speech as ‘ill-prepared’ after she inadvertently targets her party-led Himachal government.”

Chennai, December 14: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra faced sharp criticism from BJP leaders after her maiden Lok Sabha speech, where she inadvertently criticized her own party-led government in Himachal Pradesh while attempting to attack the BJP.

BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan described Priyanka’s remarks as a “comical self-goal” and accused her of being uninformed. “Her speech singularly stood out for its bizarre blunder about the Himachal Congress government. She claimed it had favored industrialists at the expense of small-scale farmers, leaving apple growers in misery,” Kesavan said.

The BJP spokesperson suggested Priyanka’s mistake stemmed from nervousness about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming address in Parliament. “She knew PM Modi would expose Congress’s false narrative, so she slipped and made this blunder,” Kesavan added.

A Viral Misstep

Earlier, BJP leader Amit Malviya shared a video of Priyanka’s speech on social media, highlighting her criticism of her own party’s Himachal government. “This isn’t driven by any noble intent—it’s just another example of her lack of awareness, much like her brother Rahul Gandhi,” Malviya posted on X.

In her speech, Priyanka attempted to highlight the struggles of apple farmers in Himachal Pradesh, claiming the government had handed over cold storage facilities to Adani, favoring one individual over the welfare of citizens. She accused the BJP-led central government of prioritizing the interests of industrialists over 142 crore Indians.

“Look at Himachal today. All the laws have been made for big industrialists. Apple growers are crying because everything is being changed for one person. Businesses, railways, airports—everything is being handed over to one individual,” Priyanka said.

BJP’s Response

Kesavan argued that the Congress views the Constitution as a “pocketbook” and accused Rahul Gandhi of treating Parliament as his “private playground.” He further predicted that PM Modi’s address would “shred the Congress’s falsehoods” and expose their failures.

A Rocky Start

Priyanka Gandhi’s debut in Parliament follows her victory in the Wayanad bypolls, where she won by over four lakh votes. However, her remarks in the Lok Sabha have sparked a political row, with the BJP using the incident to question her preparedness and awareness.
