Protest Erupts Outside Allu Arjun's Home Over Stampede Death at 'Pushpa 2' Premiere
December 23, 2024: Hyderabad: A chaotic scene unfolded outside Telugu superstar Allu Arjun’s residence as protesters, claiming to be students from Osmania University, barged into his property. They threw tomatoes, broke flower pots, and shouted slogans demanding justice for the woman who tragically died in a stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2. The protest was eventually dispersed by the police.
The stampede occurred at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre on December 4, resulting in the death of a woman. Her eight-year-old son remains in a coma and is currently receiving treatment at a city hospital.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand presented a detailed video analysis of the events leading to the tragic incident. A senior police officer revealed that despite being informed about the fatality, Allu Arjun allegedly refused to leave the theatre immediately.
It was only after police intervention that the actor was escorted out. Reports claim that Allu Arjun insisted on completing the movie screening before addressing the situation.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, addressing the assembly, accused Allu Arjun of disregarding police instructions and attending the premiere despite denial of permission. He also mentioned that the actor’s car roof-waving gesture during his arrival created an unnecessary commotion, triggering a stampede-like situation.

The incident has sparked outrage, with public opinion divided over the responsibility borne by Allu Arjun, theatre management, and the event organisers. A video of the police escorting the actor out of the theatre has surfaced online, further fueling the controversy.
Authorities are currently investigating the chain of events, while protests continue to mount pressure on the actor and stakeholders involved in the tragic incident.
