Massive crowds, holy dips in Saryu, and vibrant celebrations mark Lord Ram’s birth anniversary at Ram Janmabhoomi
April 6, 2025: Ayodhya comes alive with devotion and celebration as thousands of devotees gather at the newly inaugurated Ram Temple to mark Ram Navami 2025, which falls on the final day of Chaitra Navratri, April 6. This significant occasion commemorates the birth of Lord Ram, with the holy city echoing with chants, prayers, and spiritual fervour.
The streets surrounding the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir buzzed with devotees early Sunday morning. A sea of worshippers queued to take the sacred dip in the Saryu River before making their way to the temple for darshan.

Additional SP Madhuban Singh confirmed heightened security arrangements, saying:
“Massive crowds are arriving to offer prayers. Police personnel have been deployed and proper parking facilities have been arranged to manage the flow.”
The Ram Temple was decorated with vibrant floral displays and illuminated with dazzling lights, symbolising the divine presence of Lord Ram. The Hanumangarhi Temple also witnessed heavy footfall as devotees offered prayers to Lord Hanuman.

Mahant Raju Das, head priest of Hanuman Garhi, shared:
“Aarti was held at 3 am. Today marks the divine birth of Lord Ram. We offer prayers for the welfare of all.”
In the capital, Jhandewalan Temple and Shri Aadya Katyayani Shaktipith Mandir in Chhatarpur also saw morning aartis and spiritual ceremonies, reflecting nationwide celebrations.

As part of traditional customs, devotees also performed kanya pujan, offering gifts and prasad to young girls representing the nine forms of Goddess Durga.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings on X (formerly Twitter), posting:
“Ram Navami greetings to everyone! May the blessings of Prabhu Shri Ram always remain upon us and guide us in all our endeavours. Looking forward to being in Rameswaram later today!”
