Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, has been at the center of criticism following his comments on India’s Got Latent. During a recent episode of the show, he allegedly asked a contestant an inappropriate and offensive question involving body parts and proposed an indecent act in exchange for Rs 2 crore. However, what triggered massive outrage was when he posed a controversial question:
“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?”
The comment sparked widespread outrage, with netizens, celebrities, and politicians condemning the remark. Following the uproar, a police complaint was filed against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and co-judges Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The FIR alleges that they promoted obscene and sexually explicit content on the show, invoking multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
While the controversial episode has now been removed from YouTube, authorities have confirmed that further investigation is underway.
In response to the backlash, Ranveer released a video statement apologizing for his remark. He admitted that his comment was inappropriate and unfunny, stating:
“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform, and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context, justification, or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology.”
Despite his apology, the damage appears to have been done, with his social media following dropping and his brand collaborations potentially at risk.
With the controversy still gaining traction, it remains to be seen how this will impact Allahbadia’s career and reputation in the long run.
