Rapido Rider Slaps Woman In Bengaluru! Watch
June 16, 2025: A Rapido bike rider is under police investigation after allegedly slapping a female passenger in Bengaluru’s Jayanagar area when she confronted him over rash driving and jumping a traffic signal. The incident occurred on June 14 and was caught on video, which has since gone viral, sparking widespread outrage online.
According to reports, the woman, who had booked a ride via the Rapido app, objected to the rider’s reckless behaviour during the journey. She reportedly raised concerns after he jumped a red light and was speeding through narrow roads.
The confrontation escalated into a verbal spat, during which the rider allegedly slapped her in public, prompting bystanders to intervene. The disturbing video quickly circulated on social media, drawing criticism over passenger safety on app-based transport services.
Jayanagar police have confirmed that they have taken suo motu cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation. Initially hesitant to file a report, the victim was later persuaded by police officials to submit a formal complaint.
“We are reviewing CCTV footage and social media videos. Appropriate action will be taken once the rider is identified and interrogated,” an officer from Jayanagar Police Station told the media.
As of now, Rapido has not released an official statement addressing the incident or outlining any action against the rider. The company is facing increasing pressure from the public to respond and assure rider accountability and customer safety.
