March 26, 2025: Afghanistan’s premier spinner, Rashid Khan, made history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 by breaking Jasprit Bumrah’s record to become the third-fastest player to reach 150 wickets in the tournament. Rashid achieved this milestone during Gujarat Titans’ season opener against Punjab Kings, where his impressive career tally of wickets saw him surpass Bumrah’s previous record.
Rashid took just 122 matches to reach the 150-wicket mark, two matches fewer than Bumrah’s 124. This puts him in the company of IPL greats like Yuzvendra Chahal and Lasith Malinga.
