“Restoring Integrity and Justice”—Trump Appoints Kash Patel as New FBI Director

President Donald Trump officially signed the commission appointing Kash Patel as the ninth Director of the FBI, vowing to restore integrity and eliminate bias within the agency.

Washington DC [US], February 21: Kash Patel has been officially appointed as the ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after President Donald Trump signed his commission in a ceremony at the Oval Office. The move marks a significant shift in the administration’s push to reform the FBI and restore public trust in the institution.

Dan Scavino, Assistant to the President and White House Deputy Chief of Staff, shared the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), writing:

“Moments ago in the Oval Office. Congratulations to the Ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kash Patel.”

He further confirmed that President Trump had formally signed the commission and encouraged Americans to follow Patel’s new official X account: @FBIDirectorKash.

The White House hailed Patel’s confirmation as a critical step in Trump’s agenda to “restore integrity and uphold the rule of law.” In a statement shared on X, the administration emphasized that the FBI would refocus on its core mission of enforcing justice fairly and without bias.

“@FBIDirectorKash Patel’s confirmation as FBI Director is a crucial step in executing President Trump’s agenda to restore integrity and uphold the rule of law. The FBI will serve the American people and refocus on its core mission: enforcing justice fairly and without bias,” the White House statement read.

Patel Vows to Restore Trust and Transparency

Following his confirmation, Patel expressed gratitude to President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi for their support, pledging to rebuild the FBI into an agency that is “transparent, accountable, and committed to justice.”

His nomination, however, faced resistance from Senate Democrats and two Republican Senators, Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Susan Collins (Maine). Despite opposition, Patel secured his position with a narrow 51-49 vote, with full backing from the rest of the Republican Party, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

As Patel steps into his new role, his leadership is expected to bring major reforms to the FBI, shaping its direction for years to come.
