Following a triumphant journey at the T20 World Cup 2024, where India clinched the prestigious ICC trophy, skipper Rohit Sharma expressed his overwhelming emotions, stating that he struggles to find the right words to describe the feeling.
The 37-year-old announced his retirement from the 20-over format after leading India to victory. Rohit leaves behind an impressive legacy as the highest run-scorer in T20Is with 4231 runs in 159 matches and holds the record for the most centuries (five) in the format. He has now won two T20 World Cups: the first in 2007 as a player and the latest in 2024 as captain.
Sharing his sentiments on Instagram, Rohit posted, “This picture epitomises how I’m feeling right now. So many words but can’t find the right ones to express what yesterday meant to me but I will, and I will share them, but right now I’m basking in a dream come true for a billion of us.”
