Russian Passenger Plane with 50 People Goes Missing Near China Border
July 24, 2025: Reports from Interfax and SHOT say that an An-24 passenger plane operated by Angara airline and carrying about 50 people went missing in Russia‘s far east on Thursday.
The plane was on its way to Tynda, a town in the Amur region that borders China, from an unknown location. Air traffic controllers lost touch with the plane when they thought it was only a few kilometers from its destination.
Authorities have started search and rescue operations, but they haven’t given any more information on where the jet is or what happened to the people on board. This story is still developing, and more details are expected.
