Saif Ali Opens Up About Knife Attack: Fought Intruder Alone, Took Taimur to Hospital in Auto, Kareena Took Jeh to Lolo’s

The actor recounts the harrowing night when he was stabbed six times, how he protected his family, and why he rushed to the hospital with his son.

February 10, 2025: Saif Ali Khan has broken his silence on the terrifying night of January 16, when an intruder armed with two knives broke into his home and stabbed him six times during an alleged robbery attempt. In an interview, Saif shared the details of the attack, how he fought the intruder, and why he took his son Taimur to the hospital instead of his wife Kareena Kapoor.

The Intruder’s Attack and Saif’s Heroic Response

Saif recounted that the incident began around 2 a.m. when a house help alerted him and Kareena that an intruder had entered Jeh’s room demanding money. The intruder, masked and armed with a hexa blade, stood over Jeh’s bed. Without hesitation, Saif instinctively tackled the intruder. Despite being stabbed multiple times, he managed to hold off the attacker until their house help, Geeta, intervened.

The two managed to lock the intruder in Jeh’s room, but he escaped through a drainpipe. Saif later revealed that the adrenaline rush initially masked the severity of his injuries, which included a knife blade that penetrated close to his spinal cord.

Taimur’s Role and Kareena’s Decision

Following the attack, Kareena took their younger son Jeh to her sister Karisma Kapoor’s house for safety, while Saif headed to Lilavati Hospital in an auto-rickshaw with Taimur and another house help. The young boy insisted on accompanying his father, remaining composed despite witnessing the aftermath of the attack. “Are you going to die?” Taimur asked, to which Saif calmly replied, “No.”

Medical Emergency and Close Call

At the hospital, doctors discovered the extent of Saif’s injuries—a knife blade had come dangerously close to his spinal cord, causing numbness in his leg. The actor underwent a six-hour surgery to repair the damage. Saif described his recovery as miraculous, noting how his vital arteries and veins were miraculously spared.

Post-Recovery Reflections

Now left with 30 scars as a reminder of the ordeal, Saif described the attack as a life-changing experience but remained grateful for his recovery and his family’s safety. “I don’t understand how he missed my carotid artery and jugular vein… it’s not possible to cut somebody’s neck the way my neck is cut and not kill them,” he shared.
