Shah Rukh Khan Becomes First Indian Male Actor to Walk the Met Gala Red Carpet
New York [US], May 6:
Shah Rukh Khan added another feather to his already illustrious cap by becoming the first Indian male actor to attend the prestigious Met Gala, widely considered the most glamorous night in global fashion. Dressed in a custom black Sabyasachi ensemble, the Bollywood superstar turned heads and won hearts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute on Monday.
Before stepping onto the iconic red carpet, SRK greeted enthusiastic fans gathered outside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. In viral visuals now flooding the internet, the actor is seen shaking hands, blowing kisses, and radiating his signature charm.
Fashion insider Diet Sabya shared a video of SRK exiting his hotel, dressed in a sharply tailored all-black outfit by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. What truly elevated his look was the tiger sceptre he carried — a bold nod to royal aesthetics — and his statement ‘K’ necklace, subtly referencing his iconic title, “King Khan.” Multiple gold chains layered around his neck completed the opulent yet refined ensemble, perfectly in sync with this year’s Met Gala theme: “Tailoring Black Style.”
SRK was accompanied by his long-time manager, Pooja Dadlani. As soon as images and videos surfaced online, fans across social media platforms went into a frenzy. “How cool,” one user wrote, while another simply called him “Dapper.”
A day before the event, Sabyasachi confirmed his collaboration with the superstar by posting the words “KING KHAN” and “KING KHAN BENGAL TIGER” on Instagram Stories, paired with his label’s royal Bengal tiger logo — a symbol of strength and regality.
SRK’s appearance at the Met Gala 2025 was more than just fashion — it was a cultural statement. His presence, alongside other Indian celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Kiara Advani, and Isha Ambani, made it a standout year for South Asian representation on the global stage.
