After Operation Sindoor, India launches global diplomatic outreach to counter terror narrative, visits to 32 countries start May 23
May 18, 2025 | New Delhi– In a massive diplomatic outreach following Operation Sindoor, the Indian government has unveiled the composition of seven all-party delegations that will travel to 32 countries to assert India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism and share the context behind its strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Each group, composed of MPs from across party lines and former diplomats, will begin their tour on May 23, with key stops in the US, EU, Saudi Arabia, Russia, South Korea, and other strategic nations. The initiative aims to consolidate global support against cross-border terrorism and build consensus on India’s right to self-defence.

🔍 Mission Objective: Build Global Consensus on Counterterrorism
This initiative follows the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 civilians, and the May 7 retaliatory strikes under Operation Sindoor, where Indian forces destroyed multiple terror camps in PoK.
The diplomatic campaign is being positioned as a “united national voice above politics”, demonstrating cross-party solidarity on national security issues. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs will coordinate logistics and briefings.
“This is about projecting a united India in the global arena when it comes to fighting terror,” a senior government official said.
The delegations will also engage with UN Security Council members, regional blocs, and diaspora communities, reinforcing India’s strategic rationale behind its counter-terror operations.
⚔️ India-Pakistan: The Context Behind Operation Sindoor
India’s strikes on May 7 targeted terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. Over 100 terrorists were reportedly killed, and several terror infrastructure sites destroyed.
Pakistan responded with limited missile and drone attacks, which were intercepted. A ceasefire agreement was reached on May 10, ending four days of high-tension military exchanges.
