Shiv Sena Announces An Assistance Of Rs 5 Lakhs For The Hospitalized Former Cricketer Vinod Kambli
December 25, 2024:It’s heartening to see that Shiv Sena and its leaders, including Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and MP Shrikant Shinde, have come forward to support former cricketer Vinod Kambli in his time of need. The announcement of a Rs 5 lakh assistance from the Shrikant Shinde Foundation is a gesture that reflects the party’s commitment to aiding those who have contributed to India’s sporting legacy.
Kambli, who was an integral part of Indian cricket during the 1990s, is now facing serious health challenges. According to reports, his brain condition remains unstable, and though his vital signs are stable, he is being closely monitored and treated for complications arising from muscle cramps, dizziness, and a recent stroke. The hospital has confirmed that Kambli was suffering from a urine infection and electrolyte imbalances, which exacerbated his condition.
His emotional resilience is evident as he continues to express gratitude, especially for the support from his childhood friend, Sachin Tendulkar, and other well-wishers. The bond between Kambli and Tendulkar, forged during their time under the mentorship of coach Ramakant Achrekar, is legendary, with their iconic 664-run partnership in school cricket still etched in the memories of cricket fans.
Kambli’s career stats are notable as well: 2,477 runs in One Day Internationals and over 1,000 runs in Test cricket, though his international career was relatively short compared to other cricketing legends. Despite his medical struggles, Kambli’s love for the game remains undiminished, as evidenced by his statement about never leaving cricket.
As the Shiv Sena continues to extend support, it is hoped that Kambli receives the necessary medical care and rehabilitation to help him recover and live a better life.
